Do You Like to Sew Quilt 'Kits'?
#1
I am working on my 1st King Size Quilt Kit and am surprised it is going so fast. Love the fabric colors together, instructions are good and everything is going together well. Is this the norm for kits? I have a crib blanket kit that I haven't started yet.

I haven't yet although I often enough look at them.
I think what is holding me back from buying one is the fact that I hear often enough that the directions are not always clear and I hear it from experienced quilters who have tried them at one time or another.
I have yet to hear anyone who has used a kit say they loved it and it was easy to use and clear and consise instructions.

I've done a few - when picking out fabric combinations wasn't a skill I was comfortable with!
Also had a Flynn laser cut kit that was for a workshop I took - OMGosh! That was easy and fun! Talk about precision cutting!!

You'll find a lot of different opionions on this topic.
Pro's and Con's, etc. Just type in the word KITS in the search menu and you'll see that there are about a dozen recent topics (some go on for a dozen or so pages) on this.
And, for the simple answer, I most often don't buy kits because I honestly like to pick my fabrics and i honestly like to cut them.

The first full size quilt I made was a kit and a class. So, the fabrics were chosen for me but I did the cutting in class- to learn how. Teacher was great, and the quilt is lovely- I learned so much.
