Years ago, I taught sewing in Wichita, KS through the extension center. ONe of the classes I taught was lingerie. I loved it! Used Kwik-Sew patterns - made panties (my mother finally told me she had a life-time supply!), slips and gowns. Also men's underwear! My little boys loved it - made it from really cute knit. there is a store in Wichita called Needle Nook that sells supplies and they have a wonderful selection. I would certainly look into it - it's very quick and inexpensive.

Have done swimsuits...easier than they look as the Lycra is quite forgiving, but scary because they look so wrong until you put the elastic in at the very end, then suddenly everything comes together. Panties, not worth it, bras, I would just shudder. Camisoles would be ok though.

I'm with the gals that buy at Walmart. I took a class way back when, forget now what I made. And think it was a serger class? Agree that today it would be difficult to find the right fabric and soft elastic to match. I think the panty pattern we used was easy. Just not what I'm into. Rather quilt.
