Default Looking for Suggetions on how to Quilt This -Thanks!

I have completed the quilt top for the image shown below. The image is from EQ.

The only difference between the image and the finished quilt is that I did not use the lighthouse motif. I used beach chairs in the sand, smaller lighthouses and seagulls on the sand. The floral motifs are smaller with about 1/2" of yellow around each motif.

This is the first quilt that I will actually complete and I am at a loss as to how to quilt it.

I am really uncertain about what kind of quilting to use on the fussy cut motifs. My thoughts have been to use my embroidery machine but I could do some really basic FMQ. I have been thinking about using different patterns in different places rather than a single pattern all over. But I'm open to anything and would welcome any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Cathy

thats lovely how about mariners compases in the yellow I think a wide spaced stipple threw the lighthouses so it does not take away from them thats what i see as most important.
just a thought
good luck.

I would stitch in the ditch around the focus fabrics and then a star on the yellow and waves in the blue inner border and larger wave in the outer border.

I agree except that you should quilt something in the fussy cut areas too. Outline the designs maybe?

I would SITD on the star outlines and do a simple FMQ outline inside the blocks around the flowers and lighthouse. An all over large stipple would look nice too.

If it weren't you first quilt .... quilt in the sand dunes and maybe some grassy plants, brick work in the lighthouses or outline echo them, water, and sky using different thread colors for the lighthouse blocks. Floral motif in the floral blocks. and see what you like with the rest. Quilting not too densely but what fits.

If you like to draw you could use the Golden Threads tracing paper to make your designs and repeat them ... or 25% rag vellum, or even Press and Seal.
