Do your tastes tend toward more modern quilt patterns or traditional? I am a total traditional as far as fabrics and patterns go. I love grandmother's flower garden, the ohio star (among the many other stars), etc. Which do you prefer?

You can tell by my quilting that I LOVE traditional. When I get a "modern" top to quilt - I just don't know what to quilt on it. I search the web looking for ways to quilt a modern top and even when I find ideas I just am not drawn to them.

TRADITIONAL...all the way! I like modern fabs with an old-timey look. GFG, 9-Patch, and Dresden are my favorites. :)

I like some in both areas, the same with fabrics. It's like any art medium to me some things take my breath away, some range from great to okay but not Really my taste, then (and I keep this to myself) there's seriously? You wanted it to look like that? :-)

As a handquilter I much prefer wholecloth. I am not as skilled at piecing or applique so I prefer the wholecloth as I can get right to the part I like best. Quilting through and or around lots of seams is annoying and uses up energy I would prefer to use on the quilting. I do love fabric and satisfy my collector's heart by purchasing lots of child friendly prints and making Linus quilts from them strickly by machine.

Simple. not many triangles or weird shapes for me. I guess that's modern.

Traditional mostly, sometime modern just for a change.

Traditional is my favorite by far, but enjoy many styles and make them along with mostly traditionals.
