Do you Quilt as much in the Summer?

I spend about as much, but it's the time of day I spend quilting that changes. With summer in Florida, I have longer daylight hours so I can sew in the evening. I garden and do "sweating" chores very early in the morning, cool down in the pool, then come in and sew if I'm not running errands.

Once we start working in the gardens for the summer (shade garden, rose garden, perennial garden, vegetable garden) I don't have much time to quilt. We spend most of the day outside.
That being said, after doing that for the last month, just this week I decided to start on a new quilt. I miss my alone time in the sewing room!

I average at least 2 hours of quilting everyday. If we go out of town I always take appplique work with me. When we back pack into a river for a couple of days is about the only time I do not work on something. I am one of those who loves to get up very early and I sew until DH who loves to sleep in gets up. Works perfect for us :D

I hand quilt with a hoop on my lap and I have no A/C so I don't quilt in the summer. Plus I have yard work to do. I do sew/piece blocks in the summer. I probably would if I had a large quilt frame that I could put the whole quilt on. It's just so hot and I hate anything over 75 degrees. I keep saying I'll get an A/C some year but it's been 23 yrs since I bought my house and still no A/C :)
