I am in the process of ironing and startching some new fabric that I just pre-washed that had been stacked on a shelf. While I was ironing the fq's I had pre-washed I realized I was taking as much pleasure in what I was doing looking at the wrinkles release as I do when I lay the fabric out to cut for a quilt top. I mean this stuff is just going into the stash for right now.
Does anyone else ever enjoy this usally boring task?

I too am a little touched in the head! I love to starch and iron my fabrics. I like the crispness of them as I fold them and they just look soo pretty when on the shelf.

Yes, cound me in this odd club too! I find it very relaxing, and I can really focus on the print/details of the fabric, and yes, I love to fondle it!! I do, however, HATE having to fold really long pieces-say 7 or 8 yards bought for backing! I get DH (when he's in a good mood!) to help me and bite my tongue when he tells me I fold it wrong!! LOL

I was sorting my fabrics today, and had to fight the urge to just throw it in the floor and have a good WALLER...lol :)

oh boy do I....I find it one of the best steps in the whole process...it bonds you to the fabric in a way the NON washers/pressers can understand...There is nothing like the smell and feel of freshly ironed/starched fabric...it really gets my creative juices working over time!
