Do you think you could get tired of quilting?

I've been retired for a couple of years now and I do sew most days. I don't think I will ever get tired of quilting. Every day I look forward to completing my chores and errands so that I can retreat to my sewing room.

I have thought about that also. By now I have been quilting for 6 years. I also do other hobbies but quilting has taken over. I live in a warmer climate and knitted items are not as practical. Also clothing gets out grown while quilts seem to last longer. I guess I do not know for sure. For now I really enjoy it and the toys and fabric I have invested in have sure gotten their use. Also some of my children and friends quilt so that spurs me on and gives me company adding a new dimension. It would have to be something really good to replace quilting.

I know how you feel I was out of work for a year. I did not start quilting till two months prior to getting another job. Now I wonder why I am sitting at a desk all day...really thinking I may have to retire. Once I started doing projects, gardening, quilting, cooking, cleaning...I started to really enjoy being home. I do like the extra money for my fun projects but I also can do the same by looking for sales or using what I already have.

The best part...fabric shopping. OMG! Like I needed another obsession! I know I own Michaels craft store now I am looking to buy Joann's!! Quilting is GREAT. So, long story short, No, I can't ever see myself getting tired of it!

I've taken breaks in the past (honestly many years there for a while). I have quilted more while working outside the home than I ever did as a stay at home mom....not sure why. Maybe because I can only truly afford this hobby when I have a job LOL!

I hope I never get tired of quilting. Seems as tho I have an endless list of quilts/projects I want to make. My problem is that I have soooo many quilts I have made for myself that I don't know what to do with them all! I love making quilts for others and various causes, but those opportunities aren't always there or what I'm into at the time!
