I'm not sure I did this link right. I found this on craigs list. I am suppose to go look at it this afternoon...it is only $35

I *THINK* it's a 201-2....in which case GET IT! :) Love mine, the dogs drop, quiet, straight stitchin' machine! ;)

I agree. $35 and a cabinet - well worth it. And if it is a 201, you are set girlfriend. Look how large the harp is and with the drop feed dogs, you can do just about anything with it. And you can get the zigzag and buttonhole attachments for it too.

Let us know once you get her home. When you look her up on the Singer website, it will tell you when, where and what model.

I think it's a 66.

A 201-2 would have a potted motor on the back. A 201 should have a round stitch length plate, too.

Either one will take a class 66 bobbin and a standard needle. (15x1)

I have the very same cabinet, very same, and love it, my machine in there is a 301 tan in color, so can't see what model that one is. Hope you get a good one that runs and good wiring and cords, I just love mine.

I agree, I think it's a 66. I have one exactly like it that I got at an estate sale for $22.50 in much better shape than that one. Not to put down your find, just providing more info so you can make an informed decision about how much to pay.
