I have a bedroom that I want to use a reproduction 30's fabrics quilt in. The walls are a very pale yellow. Wooden bed and dresser in a medium wood color, a wooden rocking chair that needs to be painted or refinished. This rocking chair also has a upholstered seat (cushion) which needs to be replaced. I plan to paint the rocking chair white, make white curtains for the double window and make a white bedskirt (dustruffle) and use my reproduction 30's quilt as a bedspread. My question is What type and color fabric do I use to upholster the cushion on the rocking chair?

why don't make a quilted chair pad to match your quilt on bed

here is a link on how to cover a cushion for your rocking chair

Is there one of the fabrics in your collection that you really like? You could use it on the chair as well as in your quilt. Maybe make a matching pillow with some blocks from your quilt.

How much is the chair going to be used?
What about making a pieced cover in the 30's prints to match the bedspread?
