I find I forget to switch so all my sewing is done in the walking foot. Is this a problem at all? All seems fine.

I do the same thing. I haven't noticed it affects the blocks, but I usually figure it out pretty quickly because it's hard to find my quarter inch seam! I'm not very good at that without help. :)

I use my walking foot for almost all sewing. It has a quarter inch mark on it so it's easy to do piecing with it. It sews bias seams without stretching. The only thing I don't use my walking foot for is piecing miniature quilts.

When I am working on anything related to quilting, I find that leaving the walking foot on helps keep layers from stretching or sliding. I really like it applying borders and binding. I am much more happy with the outcome and tend to do less ripping that with the other foot. I have a computerized machine (20+ years old) so I can set the needle to accomodate the width of the walking foot. Works for me!

My Pfaff has a built in dual feed. I use it all the time. When I tried to piece a block on the Bernina without the dual feed nothing matched. I was very frustrated and then the light dawned! Now I piece on the Pfaff and quilt with my 'Nina'. They each have their pluses.

I only use it for quilting and bindings. I like to have more control over the fabric when I am piecing.

The walking foot helps keep seam intersections from slipping and I use it a lot. It is essential when sewing binding on and like I said helps my seam allowances match up when piecing long rows together. I can't imagine life without it!
