My husband helped make our granddaughter's quilt. I rented a LA at a local cloth store to quilt it. It was harder than I thought it would be. When I told him that I thought he would do a better job than me, he said that he would try it next time. He also wants us to hand quilt one together.

I've always thought how nice it would be to have a quilt assistant but never, ever considered it being my husband. He has neither the talent or inclination. In fact his only comments re. my quilting is "it's not green", or "it's green". His favorite color is green and that seems to be the only thing that he would notice about a quilt.

I found my DH in my sewing room today lying on the floor under the table my sewing machine is on. LOL He is figuring out how he wants to cut a hole in the table so he can make my sewing machine set level with the table top. He has started zigzaging my new fabrics before I prewash them so they don't ravel so much. I can't handle them until they have been washed because of the odors in them and my MCS issues. He is going to make a top for my cutting table that will be large enough so I can pin the quilt sandwiches. He will also lenghten the legs on my tables. He is also going to make an ironing table for me. He even vacuums the carpet to get up all of my threads because the machine is too heavy for me. I am so blessed God brought us together over 47 years ago. My DH feels that way, too.

No. But my 20 year old son does. If it a big project my ds and his girlfriend both assist.

Don't have a husband or even a boyfriend to help me in the sewing room. Though my brother did help me with my t-shirt quilt when I was piecing it together...he had helped me arrange them out so that they'd look appealing and then later noticed that I had sewn the shirts in the wrong order! lol. He also let me use his room a few times for quilting purposes, particulary when I was tying the quilt (really I could have done that in my room...really I wanted to hang out and watch cartoons on Adult Swim, but was so pre-occupied with the quilt that I decided to do both).

My DH made me an extension table for my machine. It isn't pretty just pressed wood covered with clear vinyl but it works great.almost covers the entire top of the kitchen table.DH does not complain about all my quilting stuff but he had to learn that those little pieces do not get thrown out!!!!!!

My DH helps me with all parts except the sewing. He even comes up with ideas to make it go faster or easier. He even asks if I want to stop at fabric stores.

He may pop in now and again to ask me a question but unless I ask him to help me with something then he would rather not be in there. He doesn't want to be included doing everything I do, thank goodness.
