Darlene Zimmerman has a new double wedding ring template/ruler (EZ quilt or Simplicity). She demoed, looked real easy to use.

I made Judy Martin's 'Monet's Wedding Ring' quilt. It's beautiful in stark white with batiks, and there's no special cutting tools needed!

I went to McCallsquilting.com and I was able to download and print out the instructions for a finished 69 1/2 X 84 1/2 Dbl Wedding Ring quilt and print the templates for paper piecing. I have not made it yet as I am getting the material to do so. Go to this site and see what you think.

I am making my first one now. I'm using the Feed Sack Wedding ring from The classic american quilt book by rodale. Lots of cutting but jelly rolls help. I just cut the templates from plastic and cut them with scissors from several stacked together. 1500 pieces. I tried a paper piecing one and didn't like it. This one goes together pretty easy.

I did a DWR with various yellow pirnts w/little bit of red for the curves. Intersection were red...really popped. Gave it to a friend for her 50th wedding anny but unfortunatly lost her husband two years before their anny. Finised it any way and never told her the real reason for the gift.

Would like to make another one for me but not sure of the color scheme.

This time I will use Marti Michelle's templates. The dots help to keep you from sewing too far and then having to unsew.

Don't be afraid of the pattern. Just decided if it will be scrappy or a planned color scheme.
