Default Ideas on color, etc?

Hi,
I am making this "Dear Daughter" quilt for my daughter and these are the blocks I have finished so far as they will be laid out in the quilt. Any input on color, value, etc? The colors are brighter than they appear in the blocks. Thanks!

Are you wanting ideas for borders?

I'm not sure what you're asking, exactly. Sashing colors? Border? Binding? Other blocks?

Oh...that is so cute!! I'd say you got the color values down. I would just make sure that you've got the dark colors spread evenly since those are the ones that pop out...very creative quilt top. Daughter should love this!

Input on the overall appearance of the blocks so far and if they look good or if there is something I should change as far as colors or value. This is around 1/2, maybe a bit less, of all the blocks. Thanks!

Thank you! I was thinking along the same lines with the dark colors!

So far so good! The color values, placement, and contrast all look pretty balanced to me. My only caveat is to be careful using yellow lettering on white background, as it can be difficult to read. (Sometimes stitching around yellow with a dark color helps.) Your daughter is going to love this quilt.

Thanks so much! A few of the words seemed to me as though they could have been a bit darker, but I am using King Tut variegated thread on the applique and I think it will make those letters pop because the thread runs mostly darker than the fabric.
