I would, but since I am not a hand stitcher, I would use the blanket stitch on my machine. ;)

I did a Hawaiian Dresden when I was in a postcard swap on another website. I also cannot do a lot of handwork so I used a buttonhole stitch.
Wowza! Those blocks are strikingly beautiful!

I machine applique. My machine has so many beautiful stitches on it and I try and use as many as I can. The Rose Quilt pics I had on earlier were all machine appliqued.

I did my first one with hand applique, but subsequent ones have been machine appliqued. I have even used the interfacing to give it texture/3D affect and invisible thread. Then quilted. It came out fabulous. I will post a picture as soon as I get a new USB cable.

My girlfriend does that all the time. She hates hand sewing. She machine sewed hers down by just sewing in a circle and she let the tips free. It was really cool . It's your Quilt, enjoy it how ever you want to .
