Default edge to edge quilting question

Has anyone ever tried the edge to edge quilting designs from Amelie Scott with fleece backing instead of a cotton backing? Did the fleece stretch? What was your experience?

    Thanks!

I don't use fleece, as I feel it stretches no matter what I use.

I have only tried fleece once on a baby quilt. It was not as bad an experience as I thought it would be. Turned out fine but it wasn't a large quilt.
I did read on some site that when using fleece or minky, etc. for backing, one way is stretchier than the other. Have the stretch going left to right, not up and down.

Thanks. I use fleece sometimes, depends on the quilt and never have a problem free motion quilting it but was wondering if it would stretch if it's hooped. When free motioning it doesn't stretch for me.

I have used fleece on the back of a quilt and LA'd it. It was not that difficult. Fleece does not stretch as much as minky. You just have to be careful and not pull on it to much. I do edge to edge meandering.

Used fleece on a large quilt with no problems, I have only used minky on crib size quilts and found it a real pain in the patoutie.

I use fleece all the time and have had no problems. I usually just cross hatch or SITD. I love it. I am in the process of using it for the back of a queen size quilt for my niece. BrendaK
