Have you all noticed Clotique has the electric quilt 7 on sale. I'm thinking me for Christmas. Have any of you used it - enough to warrant the purchase? It looks amazing in the video but it also looks busy. I'm just not sure. Help please

I bought EQ7 but haven't had time to 'play' with it very much. Lots of potential once you get past the learning curve. I wonder if any EQ owners here would like to start a forum on it?

I have the EQ6 and I like it. I'm not sure, but it seems the biggest difference with 6 and 7 is you can upload pics of your own fabric....

I have EQ7 and use it a lot. When I first got EQ6 (then upgraded) I didn't really use it. I took an internet class and made myself practice for at least a couple hours a week. Now it's like any other computer program--easy to use, and it really helps in laying out a quilt, figuring sashing sizes, re-sizing a block, etc. I haven't done anything fancy (pixelating, etc). You do have to dedicate time to learning the basics and then it's all fun. I didn't find it to be a program that you could just open and use-there is a learning curve but there are tons of tutorials, lessons, groups that any question you have can get answered almost immediately. I love importing fabric-choosing colors is the most difficult part of quilting-this lets me "play" with different combos til I get it right.

Where did you sign up for the class? I did an upgrade to the EQ7 but must admit I didn't practice with EQ6 either.

I have EQ5 and I love, but I've been thinking of upgrading soon. What's their web address?

I took the webinar that Penny Halgren offered on her site http://www.TheQuiltingCoach.com
It was free at the time but I think she sells it as a CD now-very good program, step-by-step. It's like EQ7 for dummies--just what I needed.

EQ7 is awesome, I couldn't quilt without it! I design all my quilts in it, along with pillow covers, and it totally makes up for my math deficiencies!

I haven't gotten my up-grade to seven as yet, but I will! I started with EQ2, THEN I got my first ever computer. Had no idea how to even turn it off correctly. But I sure had fun with the EQ, have gotten every up grade to 6, but still have to get 7, I work out all my quilts on my EQ, love the yardage print outs so you know just how much fabric you need. if I do not have enough of a fabric I can either tweek the design or see if I can find more of that special fabric. No getting half way thrugh and finding out I do not have enough to finish.
