Faye, could it be this design? Some are just not digitized properly. You mentioned doing three others that turned out okay; I wasn't sure if they were different designs or three of this same one. When I have a problem with embroidery, I check (in order): threading, correnct stabilizer, new needle, different top thread, different bobbin thread. If none of those solve the problem, then I adjust top tension, but not the bobbin case. Last resort, I take my machine in, and there's usually a burr or a very small piece of lint that's in one of the tension disks. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the information..I know one piece of information that I have not been doing and thats making sure the presser foot is up for each thread change. So after work I will give that a try. I was working on a tractor for my grandson and I know the 1st time it happened..then the 2nd..the 3rd.. the 4th... (yes a slow learner) lol I was like..how can I always be doing something wrong. My husband walked in by me and notice..it always happened in the same area. So it must be a pattern issue. The one I was doing is actually on my machine, so I am doubting it is that. So back to the drawing board again..this machine is NOT going to win..he does not know who he is dealing with!!! lol
I have gone into my brother dealership with it (lucky for me it is only 5 blocks from me). So I am thinking it is the threading it with the presser foot down.. I will try that first.. wish me luck.I will kepp you all posted..

thread problems on the bottom are caused from the top thread. Double check how its threaded, the tension and rethread the bobbin. Most of the time when I have a Problem with my Ruby it's due to threading

That problem is called "threads nests", and as others are saying, it is a threading issue as well as a tension issue (they are related). Either you are not using the correct threading "path" according to the instructions, or you are not using the proper method of winding bobbins ... or the bobbin is not "seated" properly in the bobbin area.

Make sure you have the machine threaded properly, and use a new "embroidery" needle according to the mfg., normally a size 12 Schmetz Microtex is best for machine embr. Use ONLY embroidery bobbin thread (thin & white) in the bobbins supplied w/the machine. You also have a tension issue because you are getting more top thread showing underneath. You should have no more than 1/3 top thread showing around the bottom edge of the design, and 2/3 white bobbin thread showing on bottom of design. If the machine is threaded properly, then it's a tension problem that your dealer can correct. Have your dealer fix it, and show you the sew out test once it's all fixed.

I would say its your bobbin thread. I don't know what kind your machine suggests.
My Bernina requires 100% cotton bobbin thread. And does this when I used polyester bobbin thread.
Bobbin thread should be 60 wt. and specifically for embroidery machines.

I cured all my embroidery problems with prewound bobbins...I have 2 brothers and they both like them

Do you have screws holding your hoops to the machine? If you do, make sure they are good and tight...also check the tightness of your hoop itself. The last time this happened to me, the screws had come loose and it resulted in the hoop moving just enough to screw everything up.

When I had issues it ended up being that I wasn't getting the thread in each notch in the thread path...I didn't hear the click when I threaded the thread through the path...it was so frustrating but it ended up being a simple issue to fix.the only other thing I can think of is top thread tension too tight or bobbin tension too loose?

It also looks like the upper tension to me. Threading the machine top and bobbin really makes all the difference in the emb. work.
