As I've told all of you I will soon be getting an embroidery machine... I think the number that goes with it is 3500- does anyone know what kind it'd be? Brother 3500 is what my mom thinks - she just can't get to it right now... I'm just curious as to what free downloads to look for .... thanks.

    Hi,

I have Babylock machines, an Ellure and an Elegante 2 which both embroider. If your machine is a Brother I would presume it would use PES format for designs, as do mine.

Any design that is a PES should work, unless you have a hoop size limitation. Some machines only do 4x4, or 5x7, or larger...if it's a bigger machine it'll do both. I am not familiar with Brother machine numbers, but they are very similar to Babylocks, I know.

    You will love embroidering! Enjoy.......

Brother makes an XL3500 but it's not an embroidery machine. Juki makes a 3500 but it's not an embroidery machine either. I don't know of any others :( I owned the PE 150 embroidery machine several years ago when I first got started with embroidery. I didn't want to spend a lot for a machine if I didn't use it much. It was a good little machine. I upgraded and my SIL now has that machine.

BTW, Bev....Babylock and Brother are made by the same company :)

There are so many cool sites on the net for embroidery designs. My favorite is the embroidery library, emblibrary.com They have some free designs and many that are inexpensive. They also have a projects page to give you ideas for using your embroidery machine. You just have to know what file extension your machine uses. You can find lots of other sites just by googling machine embroidery designs. Machine embroidery is very addictive. You're gonna love it!

I have the Baby Lock Ellageo. It will do just about everything but make the morning coffee, and I don't know how to use it. DH bought it for me just before I began a long series of surgery, thinking I would use it while getting well. Unfortunately, I felt too bad to even think about sewing. Here I am almost 7 years later.......TRYING to learn about my Ellageo. But, I think I'm going to become friends with "Ella, the Ellageo".
