Has anyone ordered from JellyRollFabrics.net? I wanted to make each of my granddaughters a Pixelated Heart quilt to show them how much they are loved. The oldest will be 8 and the youngest 4 this year. I ordered 4 charms packs, two in purples and two in blues, their favorite colors. I had assumed they would be quilt shop quality, but the fabric appears thin to me, and I hesitate to use it. If you have ordered their charm packs (not a name brand item) and everything turned out ok, would you let me know please. Package says 100% cotton, and www.Premium Precuts.com. Keeping my fingers crossed that these are ok to use.

When I order precuts I learned to buy the name brand fabrics I have used before since I can't feel them before buying. I have never heard of JellyRollFabrics.net. If you are unsure then don't use them for an important gift quilt.

I ordered several jelly rolls from them quite a few years ago. I'm not particularly sensitive to smells but they all had a very strong chemical odor and none of the strips had anything on any selvedge to indicate the brand. I assumed they'd been treated to make the fabric seem sturdier than it really was. I donated them to Good Will.

I have used their charm packs and they were fine, they didn't smell and I thought they felt ok also.The quilt I made with them turned out nice and I've washed it many times and it hasn't fallen apart. I have noticed a lot of fabrics feel thinner than it used to. Kaffe especially feels thin to me. The same goes for clothing, it all seems thinner than it used to be.

In the past I have found pre-cuts not to be cut correctly, thin, etc. So I've quit buying pre-cuts and just cut from my stash. True, it's a lot more work but I know they're cut correctly plus I like to starch all my fabrics before I cut into them so I'm able to do this too.

The only pre-cuts I found to be worthy of my business is from Jinny Beyer's site. You know her fabrics are a very good quality and I do have some of those yet to use up.

I would return them with a message that they did not meet your expectations for quality quilting fabric. The company needs to know their customers are not pleased.

I looked at their website (which appears to be a canned e-commerce design) and dug down to see where they are located.

Their mailing address is a box at a UPS store in Indiana, so they use a mail service and don't reveal their actual location.

Website ownership info is blocked on Whois/ICANN. The website name is registered through GoDaddy, which usually means it's an individual.

The only fabric I buy is a known brand. I don't like surprises. I've bought many precuts from Moda, etc and they were fine. Sorry this happened to you.

BTW- Jinny Beyer is retiring and all her fabric is 40 % off.

I cut my own and do not use pre-cuts with one exception only because I know the brand and it is Beatrix fabric lines. I will by layers cakes directly from the manufacture. I have enough fabric in my stash to make all my charm pieces.

All precuts are made from yardage. If you buy name brand precuts it's cut from the same fabric sold on the bolt.
