Default Can I take one side of binding back off?

I machine sewed my binding then I washed the entire quilt. After it was washed I noticed some places I would like to fix. Is it too late to rip stitches out of just one side of binding and sew it back down? Will the binding not fit right since it has been washed? Thanks so much for your help.

Never too late. Washing is one way to ensure the integrity of the quilt is solid!!

I have no idea, but it must be possible, how do ladies fix quilts that have had years of use and need a repair here and there. Well, you will have to do it and let us know for sure how it turned out.

Sure you can, you want to fix those issues so that it can be used. If it is just small areas, I would consider just doing some hand mending.

Ditto this.. another option is to only rip out the stitches about 1" on either side of the spots you'd like to fix (say if you stitched off the edge of the binding or it's just uneven) and then redo only those portions, then you can work the ends of the thread into the binding so the repairs aren't obvious at all.

It's not too late. You wouldn't consider it too late to fix a used quilt you were given.

Sure you can take the binding off and do whatever repairs are needed.
As for the binding fitting ok... if not, just improvise.

Yes, just take it off and re sew. You may have to remove the entire binding if it doesn't fit properly. But if its just a small section, maybe you can fix that area only.
