Default Wadding?

My friend who is new to quilting has just bought some "Batting", when she got it home she realised that it was called "Wadding" it is 100% polyester, although it is fluffier than batting she has used before (I have not seen it yet) is it suitable for a quilt for her teenage grandson where it will get lots of wear?

we call it Batting, you call it Wadding. I'm sure it is fine as long as it is Batting and meant for quilts. Battings come in different thicknesses. I like thin ones myself.

Yep...Batting and Wadding are the same thing. What you are describing is high loft. Bit trickier to hand quilt, but do-able. Should be durable enough for a teen quilt.
