After some time spent staring thoughtfully at the help file, I decided to recreate the Cosmic Twist bargello quilt from Eileen Wright's Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts in EQ7. I own the book and wanted to test out a few fabric ideas.

And it WORKED! HA! To think, I was going to do this mess on paper with fabric. Nope. This gives me a much better idea.

(Oh, and I just used those particular fabrics to get a vague idea for what I want - there are fabrics I now know I'll need to tweak for the desired effect and contrast.)

Proof! *happy dance*

I just bought EQ 7 last night! Can't wait to play with it and see the quilts without all the hassle of mapping them out on paper.

And the most fun bit is the tool that lets me instantly replace all squares colored in one fabric with another fabric - recolors with the click-and-drag of a button. Aaaah! I almost believed I couldn't work bargello's in this program and was getting ready to beat my head against a wall. No longer!

Jennalyn, that's awesome! Did you use the existing Bargello blocks in the library, or did you draw your own?

beautiful color scheme.

and the best part is now you understand the design concept of bargello and can create all your own designs.
