This site is full of wonderful people who do so much for others. Good deeds begin with the littlest gesture and grow outward from there like a ripple on a pond!!

Happy Holidays!!

Absolutely Great stories!!! My stepdad was going shopping and found $20 in the parking lot. When he got to the front of the store, there was a man beggin and my SD gave him the money. Let's all remember how fortunate we are. Merry Christmas everyone!

What you did exemplifies what Christmas is all about. How wonderful. I am sure that her mother is smiling as is the Savior. Good JOB!

I absolutely treasure the few things I have from my late grandmother. I have tears in my eyes just thinking of how thoughtful you were and that they must have loved that you did that for them. These are the kids of stories I like to hear about around Christmas. It isn't just the normal gift giving... you gave them a treasured gift that I'm sure will be passed down the generations.

How kind of your stepdad. I was in the parking lot of JoAnn's 2 week-ends ago and there was a lady wandering about begging. She came up to me asking for money. The only cash I had on me was 3 quarters, 2 dimes and a nickel for the parking meter downtown. I told her that was all I had and offered it to her. Her reply - "Well, it's better than nothing". Harumph.

I only use my credit card at JoAnn's and never take cash. Oh well. I am so glad that not everyone is like her.

Ellie, what a great job you did on the socks. Blessings to you for that.
I would like to share a story. We have a dear friend and husband, she is going blind. In 1950's they were stationed in Gremany with the Boy Scouts of America European Theater. She started a patchwork quilt between having 4 babies in 5 years. Of course the quilt took a back seat for many years. She had showed it to me 10 years ago, before I started quilting. Two years ago, at Thanksgiving her husband asked if I would bring it home and find some one who would finish it. They live in a retirement area of Arkansas and he did not know or trust anyone to finish it for her. It only needed a border and quilted. He and dh sneaked it out to our car and I bought fabric for the border and pillow cases to match. My friend who does my long arm took the one she was working on and quilted it in a hurry. It was so pretty. We took it back to them in a big roaster box and on Christmas it was under the tree. All 5 of thier children were there when she opened it. I guess they were all in tears, because the kids all remembered the quilt top. I was so happy to do this for her and it is on thier bed every day.

You have demonstrated the true meaning of Christmas.
Quilters are givers; what a beautiful gift for both of you, the giver and receiver. Hugs are definitely in order for this most precious gift of the season.

God Bless all who are so kind. But why can't these small blessing of kindness be all year around.
God Bless all. And Merry Christmas to all.
