fabric art?

I have a question. There was a couple people, that did what I think was called fabric art..One lady did a child. She took a photo, and made it just the black and white outline...and did it on fabric...anyone remember the name of this technique? I would really like to get in touch with the lady that did the child also..or the lady that did one of her father.
