It seems to vary. Alot of calicos at JoAnns are 8 yds. Flannel is more.

Most quilting cottons come on 15-yard bolts (give or take a couple of yards).

Great prices, they are right there in LA, so shipping would be very little to you! They will quote shipping for you on the phone before you place an online order. The shipping estimator on their site doesn't ever seem to work for me. The ship very quickly and just for an idea of what it runs, to ship to MT; one bolt is $10, two bolts are $14 and three are $16.....great place!

When you buy fabric for backings, whether it's the wide one, or bolts, how do you decide what to buy if it's for quilts not yet made? Do you stay with neutral?
