Default Fabric Cutting

Hi, I am making a cat quilt that has a 1 1/4" piece that gets sewed
to another piece to make the cat's ears. for some odd reason, the
1 1/4" piece seems to wave, when I stitch it diagonally to the longer piece,
I do not get the ears to be equal. Any suggestion?
Thanks
NormaBeth

Make sure you don't pull them. Just what I think may be the problem.
