Default Looking at Jennifer Bowker's Shimming Triangles pattern at Crafty

Has anyone tried this? Love to try, I did purchase the pattern but have my doubts if I can get the right flow going so it shimmers in the light. Suggestions, maybe if you made it, could you share some pictures of it? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried that pattern, but I really like it. I'd love to find a class in the area for that quilt.

Yes, Tall chick, that is the right pattern for the quilt. I have purchased it and downloaded because I admire it so much. But can I really do it? Crafty has given lessons, maybe I can take a class in it sometime. Has anyone taken the classes?

Perhaps if enough people contacted Craftsy asking for a class on it they might be inclined. On the flip side perhaps a local quilt shop could be convinced to have a class on it? I love this pattern and it’s been on my wishlist, I find I enjoy more in depth patterns provided they are well written. Or maybe get a bunch of friends together and have your own class, after all the more the merrier and it helps to have others point of view too when we get stumped.

I think a quilt store might be a good idea; its the choice of fabric that makes a difference...although I can match colors, I am unsure about the 'shimming' combo effect. It is a challenge and it keeps calling me!

layout is really important. I did mine without a pattern and wanted to keep all my larger blocks whole. I plan on doing another some day.

Craftsy also had a quilt for sale awhile ago called Echoes by Jinny Beyer. I did buy the kit when it was on sale. I still haven’t made it but Jinny’s Looks much easier than the other one. I’m enclosing jinny’s closeup as you can get a better idea what it’s made up of.

Those kinds of patterns make my eyes go out of focus. It probably has to do with my motion sickness but I just can't look at one long enough to tell what it is really all about.
