Does anyone want to join me on a fabric moratorium.

What I'm thinking about is this...

* no fabric purchases to start a new quilt top
* from now until 1 November 2011

What you can buy is this - items to finish an existing quilt project (either WIP or UFO):

* batting
* backing or binding fabric
* fabric (if nothing in your stash will work)
* thread or notions

Anyone else interested in joining me?

does that mean if I find something I have to have, but don't have a quilt in mind, I can still buy it?

Rachel - that would be a "no". The reason is that you wouldn't have the project already in your "to-do" basket.

I know - pretty tough huh.

A friend of mine started this last year. To start with I thought she was quite insane. The more I thought about it - the more it made sense. I gave it a go - and it is really achievable.

The point of the 1 November deadline - is that during November there are some really good sales. That's when I would stock up.

I would love to but know I don't have the willpower to do it. I'll be in buying something to complete a quilt and a new fabric will shout my name and I'll buy it. Sigh.

I'm in!!! does it start NOW? What do we do 'confess' when we bought something we shouldn't have bought?

The hardest place not to buy though will be right on this website's classifieds. I HAVE to check them everyday...even though I don't 'need' anything.
