Default Inspira Fab-U-Motion Fabric Mover

I did a search of the archives on the Inspira Fab-U-Motion Fabric Mover and I think I am more than confused. In the video they show a small piece of fabric and it makes it look so easy to FMQ. But in the archives I see some criticism about trying to FMQ a bed size quilt. If I were to get this (found a very good price online) I would be using it mostly for quilts that would measure 50" square or smaller. If you have the Inspira Fab-U-Motion Fabric Mover can you give me the pros and cons (before I spend my $$$s.)

Also available (again very good price) is the Inspira Fab-U-Motion Fabric Mover with Stitch Regulator. I have to call the company to find out if they have an adapter for my machine. If the adapter is available is this worth the extra $$$s.

I really need the expertise of the board to tell me if you would buy it again and do you use it regularly?

Merry Christmas to all,

Sunnie

I don't find them useful. Control the quilt with your hands. I find them limited in moving the quilt around. Keeps having to readjust and place.

I have one with stitch regulator and I love it. I've had it for several years and have used it every couple months. I've done many lap size quilts and a queen size quilt with it. The quilting "window" is about 7" x 9" so you do have to keep adjusting the quilt as you move along, but I find it gives me much better control when moving the quilt around the quilting design. I also think the stitch regulator is helpful to me. Altho, lately, mine hasn't been working correctly. I think one of the sensors is going bad.

Sold mine with regulater after first small project. Worked at store that sold them. since I showed them bought one. Space very small to quilt in. Like to do free motion on my own even though not that good at it yet.

I have a Fabric Mover for my Viking Sapphire. I've had it for 2 years and used it about 3 hours total. Hate it!! The quilting area is about 9 x 8 or so then you have to move the quilt again then again. I cannot FMQ; thought this would help--nope!! Very limited in area. I see others have had success with theirs. Mine is under the bed--I stub my toes on it every night to remind myself that I don't need every gadget that comes along LOL. I don't know where Morgantown Pa is but if you're near me, you're welcome to come try mine (if I can figure out how to put it on the machine after all this time). It does have a stitch regulator.
Please try it out for yourself before you commit to the purchase. I watched all the videos and the lady was smiling and having a great time. Not me--the air was blue with cuss words when I tried it!!

I agree. Mine has the stitch regulator and I never could get the hang of it. I finally just committed to practicing free motion and I find that much easier and my results much nicer.
