There is a company on line - I think the name is c. Jenkins. They originally made men's ties. After experimenting with printing on silk, the started working with other fabrics. Their product seems to print more clearly that other products.
Having said that, there are products available at your lqs too print pictures on fabric. Usually you can ask, and someone will know what you are talking about. :)
    Have fun making the quilt!

It is typically called "printable fabric sheets". If you are ordering online, don't mix them with transfer sheets, sometimes the wording can get confusing on some sites

They also come in different cotton fabrics...It is best if you can buy them in person, then you can open them up and feel the fabric. The closer woven it is, the better the pictures will print out.

Just be sure to read the package well. Some are not as colorfast as others. C. Jenkins also has bubblejet2000 and the rinse if you want to print on your own fabric.

CJenkins is the best source of the best quality at the best price.

they offer everything from prepare-your-own to prepared yardage.

they're slow to ship if you order directly through their website. if you're in a hurry search for shops that carry their products.

    http://www.cjenkinscompany.com/

i'm sure i haven't seen all of them, but the other brands i've looked at are beyond horribly, ridiculously expensive.

I have seen it at Joann's, Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics, Wal-Mart and Alco.

I just finished a memory quilt for my Mom using June Taylors
fabric sheets which I found in the craft dept at Walmart. They worked great and reasonably priced. The cotton worked better than the linen but also the type of photo can make a difference. You'll have to experiment. Good luck!
