Hi Everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone else was feeling this way or is it just me? I'm an online gal and love to shop that way. I like to watch for sales at JoAnn's and Hancock's. Lately, what I'm seeing on the selection of fabric is just not appealing to me at all. Even my most favorite, Christmas! My stash has a nicer collection then what I'm seeing online and even at the actual stores. Even some of the fabric at the nicer fabric shops aren't appealing. Some of it really looks like the designers have run out ideas and just threw things together. I know they all work hard but maybe they are having an off year or two........or maybe it's just me!! I'm starting to have fabric buying withdrawal (lol). Thanks for letting me vent.

I have such a big stash that I hardly buy any more, unless i see something I just can't resist. Which I haven't for awhile.

You may have reached your saturation point. I reached mine about a year ago, since then I've purchased maybe 5 yards. I honestly think the designers go through phases. A lot of them were doing the red/teal thing for a while, especially at Christmas. I've had my eyes peeled for any line of fabric that included shades of purple, lavender, forest green, and sage, and I've only seen one in the last 2 or 3 years - and NONE of my LQS's carried it!

Hmmm. Well, I guess it depends on your tastes. I really enjoy the new designers and lines out now. A few years back, I lost interest in buying fabric because the palettes that dominated were so bland, and the designs so predictable. But I think there's been an infusion of energy recently, with some really different, challenging lines and color combinations to play with.

I've really enjoyed Tula Pink's designs, for one. They're maybe not for everyone, with little tiny rodents worked into the topiary, and frogs and slugs (Parisville and Prince Charming lines, respectively). But the colors are so gorgeous, and the patterns give me a little shove to think outside the box as far as predictable quilt designs.

There is such a range of options out there now, if you wanted to buy something, surely you could find something that is to your tastes : ) Though it's without question cheaper to shop the stash.

I am in this same situation... but I do agree, there aren't as many pretty fabrics as I have seen in the past. Only rarely do I see something I just have to have.

I have so much that I don't buy unless I see something I can't resist.

For me it seems there isn't anything new at too many of the places I shop. Joann Fabrics has had the same things for a long long time. (not saying I never see new stuff, but the old outweighs the new)

There are a few new things at the LQS' I go to , but again alot of the same stuff.

:(

I have been tempted (and gave in) to the fabric lines of Connecting Threads these past few months. I love the colors ....especially the line of Quilters Candy.
