Hi there.
At allbrands they offer 50% off shipping cost on international orders.
I would like to order the gracehoop2 (239$) and if I go to "calculate shipping" they quote 141,94$. Do you think this is 50% of the regular costs? Cant be, can it??
I wrote an email to them but it will take up to three days for answer and after days looking for a online shop with international shipping I am running out of patience.

Would be very grateful for answer

I *think* it is the 50% off because when I calculate for my address in the US it charges 0.00 so it is auto fixing itself. Would it be feezable to call them and ask instead of waiting for their return email?

The outside the US phone number is 225-923-1285

Somebody out there doesnt want me to have a floor stand hoop and I wreck my shoulders at a 100" x 100" blanket.

I just placed an order and got their automated thankyouforyourorder mail. So far so good, an hour later a got a mail in my junkmail account saying that they where not able to verify my creditcard datas "at this time".
What does that mean (desperate quilters, equilters and fatquarters where able to do that without problems!?) I was not able to answer to that mailaddress and I had to write to them to their mailaddres on the homepage. Yes exactly the one that promisese answer withhin three days.............
I am so frustrated

I really, really advise against ordering from Allbrands.net. I've had two bad experiences with them, and have sworn off ordering from them altogether:

1) I ordered a bobbin winder from them. When it arrived, I discovered that it did not wind the thread as tightly as I would have liked. I did not know this at the time I ordered, but they do NOT accept returns on opened items (and if you do manage to convince them to accept your return, they charge a 15% restocking fee). I pleaded with them to take it back, because it did not work as expected. They refused.

2) Going against my better judgment, I shortly after that ordered a new metal carriage for long-arm frame -- they were having a really good deal, and I couldn't pass it up. They not only sent the wrong size carriage -- and refused to take it back despite it being the wrong item -- it was also horribly broken in several spots. I talked to the Grace Frame Company, and they made everything right...they're a great company. Allbrands...not so much.

They have some good deals on their site that are tempting, but I've been burned twice now as far as crummy/broken products, and would never order from them again. That combined with their awful return policy just doesn't make it worth it.

I am sorry about the bad experience you made and it sure does not make me feel better. If they refuse my visacard I will cancle the order as I am not going to wire money to them.
How were you able to order at Grace company directly?

The best sewing machines were German made. Any chance you can get a new or used machine over there? Even in Switzerland there must be used machines that need new homes. The greater the use of metal the better the machine is supposed to be.

I do simple sewing and plain quilting - what I needed was a work horse that would survive my binge sewing and I got a Janome and it is almost perfect. Mid range price and much less on the internet shops than local businesses.

But if I were in Europe I'd look for a used German made machine.

I don't advise ordering from them. I ordered a reader card for my Palette and they sent the wrong one. That was the end of November and it was for a Christmas gift. I called and called and emailed several times with no answer from them. I finally had to put a dispute on my credit card to finally get a response and that was way after Christmas. I told her that and that I wanted a full credit for the item and if they weren't going to do that then to call me. As expected, they did not follow through and sent me a replacement. At least this one works.
Terrible customer service, don't take the chance.

LOL Oops!
Then you need to keep searching. Do you use Google? Seems to work best for me.
