If my memory serves me there is a pattern called "seeds of time". That is a freebie on the net, it used Kansas troubles is I think it is maybe a log caching type pattern.

I also think that Kansas troubles would be great in courthouse steps and fatquarters would work great.
I can see Kansas troubles making a great nine patch too.

Wow, what great information. Everytime the BF & I visit Joann's he walks out with fq's. He picks them for color only! I have a alot of them! Drives me crazy sometimes.

my favorite fat quarter quilt is "Yellow Brick Road" each one looks so different, unless you are familiar with the patter you don't recognize it, and there is the "Turning Twenty"

There are numerous FQ patterns out there and I have the following books that I really like. Good luck.

5-10-15+ Fat Quarters by Jeanne Stauffer and Elisa Sims Albury
Fat Quarter Quilts - M'Liss Rae Hawley
Fast Quilts from Fat Quarters by Barbara Chainey

I recommend Eleanor Burns Quick Trip Quilts book. The Quick Quarter pattern uses all fat quarters. Bigger quilts use more fat quarters. I did a queen that used 28 fat quarters + fabric for the borders. I love that pattern and have made several more in smaller sizes.

Am I the only one that buys fat quarters to have the colors I want for log cabins?

There are so many FQ books - Hawley, Karen Snyder, etc. Try going to your local library to see what they on the shelves.
