My 'go to' block is a log cabin -- simple to make, great for using up leftovers, and they play well together. There are probably hundreds of ways to set them to get a different looking quilt.

My absolute favorite is the Log Cabin but I try many different ones. It's fun to see other blocks develope but go back to my fave! I used it for my mother's 90th birthday memory quilt. And I'll use it a lot more!

Amish Dahlia as I like the bas-relief effect of the flower.

Churn Dash - because I like to 'fussy cut' fabric for the center block (great for kids/baby quilts). Also Attic Windows...am working on an "All Creatures Great & Small" quilt for myself. Using every fabric I could find for animals, birds, water creatures, etc, and am embroidering the poem around the edges.

I like soooo many but I think my favorites to do are...crumb quilts and string quilts.....I like to use up scraps and I have so much fun doing those two quilts..they are freeing and I am not a follow the directions kinda person........

My fav has always been the Log Cabin. Never made one, (just quilting 3 years)but I will sometime. Have no clue what the ribbon block, pineapple, or Amish Dahlia are. Would love to see them. Thanks for all the little clues everyone puts in their notes. Never heard of the quilterscache.com but will check it out this morning.

I've been sitting here for 10 minutes, going through all the quilts I've made and trying to pick a favorite. I give up. I can't ever tell until it is made.

All the ones I have. I could not pick one over the others.
