Default Favorite "celebrity" quilters

Many years ago Eleanor Burns appeared on our local PBS station on Saturday mornings and I fell in love with her simplified methods of quilting. She remains one of my favorites today.

Nancy (Zimmerman) should be ZIEMAN caught my attention because of her wonderful methods for sewing clothes on the same local PBS station following Quilt in a Day. She remains one of favorites as well. She has evolved into quilting and machine embroidery along with her wonderful methods for apparel.

Have watched lots of Fons & Porter as well along with Sue from Husqvarna and others. Loved Alex Anderson's Simply Quilts on HGTV. Wow, she was good and had loads of good guests.

Now added to my favorite list is Jenny Doan. She is every bit as good as the others. Her methods are simple and love her presentation on the Missouri Star Quilt Company tutorials. This woman is wonderful.

Who are your favorites?

I first started watching Quilt in a Day and Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting. I like to also watch Sewing with Nancy, with Nancy Zieman. I haven't watched a TV program with Nancy Zimmerman. What is the title of Ms. Zimmerman's show?

It is Nancy Zieman and her show is Sewing with Nancy. It's been on PBS for 30+ years. She does all kinds of sewing - not just limited to quilts.

Yes, I messed up. I was thinking about Darlene Zimmerman who appears with Nancy semi-frequently. My error. It is Nancy Zieman.

The only sewing/quilting shows on Dish are Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting and Sewing with Nancy with Nancy Zieman. They are on PBS in my area on Sunday afternoon. As soon as church is over, I head home and turn on the TV to watch these two shows. My husband knows not to ask me anything until these shows are over ... lol.

along with the ones you named I also love Judy Martin... I have learned lots from all of the mentioned quilters and enjoy being able to sit down & watch a 1/2 hour show- in my book beats paying for a class (although catching a class/workshop with any of them is a WONDERFUL experience and one to take advantage of if the opportunity arises!)

Congratulation Edie, you got him WELL TRAINED !!!

I do miss Simply Quilts. That was an excellent show showing a variety of techniques but who could NOT enjoy EB. I have met her in person on numerous occasions. She is actually funnier in person !! I do miss Marianne Fons dry whit and her vast experience in quilting.
