Default Favorite new quilting tool

Just wanted to say that the best new quilting tool that I've purchased in a long time is the rotating cutting mat! I went for the 17 x 17 and just love it! Got it at JoAnne's with my 50 percent off coupon. It's pretty pricey otherwise. Just makes things much easier!

I love the rotating mats! I have both sizes; but find I use the 17 inch most often. I'm sure I used a 50 per cent off coupon when I purchased each of them.

Don't see how you can do a twister quilt without one! If possible, get one will ball bearings.

I have the first version of the rotating mat. It is 12 x 18 Olfa mat on a ball bearing white tray. It's heavy and will not tip at the ends. I can change out the mat when ever it gets bad too. I have not found another quilter that has one but someone must. I bought it at Hancock Fabrics I think in the late 90's. I have the smaller size that rotates on a mat backing. It is handy to take to classes.

My 12 x 12 is great. Have used it for several years. Not necessary to move the fabric when cutting so cuts are easy to do.
