My best machine just began pulling the top thread through to the internal bobbin mechanism and 'hanging up'. I oil her and keep her lint free. I use good thread that she has always loved (Gutterman). I feel like it may be a tension problem, but tried to adjust. The top stitch is not her familiar quality, but she works for a while and then the top thread gets stuck in the internal bobbin mechanism. Please help. I am in the middle of piecing for a class.

If you haven't already done so, rethread her top and bottom.

Will change needle and bobbin this morning! Thank you. Have re-threaded a few times and it made her sew somewhat better. I am wondering about tension.

Could be a bad needle. I would do as they say, change needle and bobbin. Then rethread. Make sure the upper tension is not too loose.

Take the bobbin out and turn the machine over...sounds like something is stuck down in the bobbin assembly area...even 1 tiny thread will do that. Also do what the others said...new needle, etc.
