Does anyone know what a Featherweight machine costs? I have someone selling one but I don't have any idea what they go for. Please help.

They really vary. Anywhere from garage sales finds of 50.00 all the way up to collectors asking 650.00. If it is in good shape and has all the attachments and the box I personally would go as high as 250.00. (That's what I paid for my white one.) Just depends on how bad you want one and how good a negotiator you are!! :-D :-D Check ebay for some examples.

I paid a little over $200 for mine but it was also my highschool English and French teacher's. So it's not only a Featherwieght but one with a personal connection for me. Even though I now own and treasure Mrs. Brown's Featherweight, if I ever find another one less than $100 or even several I'll buy them. My rule of thumb is that if they run and are less than $250 it's a fairly good deal, if they're less than $200 it's a good deal and less than $100 it's a great deal.

I paid $280 for mine in April and it's well worth it. Not a bit sorry. It's a 1938 model and I'm a 1937 model.

Thanks for all the feed back. The amount someone was asking was $375.00, I for one thought it was a little too much.

Here's one off of craigslist from Today

http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/atq/1935580786.html

If you are interested they are asking $175.00 for it but I think offering less would be the case. It has been well used in my opinion.
Hope this helps.

Since it has damage to it (about the size of a nickle) I wouldn't offer more than maybe 125.00. It sounds like a guy selling it cuz women don't usually say outfit when refering to a sewing machine. lol
Let me know if you get it?
