I have 16 pieces that should be 2" by 6" inches, and instead they are 2" by 5". If I sew on 16 little pieces to make them the right length, that little seam will be in the middle near the center square or near the edge and cut to the point where it might not stay on so well.

I think I will go to Michaels and see if I can find that pack. I've already been through my stash and I don't have anything else that works. I have 16 pieces with the accent already, so I'd like to not have to redo those pieces.

Sigh...

Michaels is associated with Joann Fabric. They might have the fat quarter you need. Good luck!

I'm always a nervous wreck when it comes to cutting fabric. One time, I measured once, measured twice, wrote down the measurement and still cut the fabric too small. Talk about being a chuckle-head!

Hi neighbor, sounds beautiful. Can you show us a picture? As dkabasketlady metioned maybe someone will have the same fabric. I have guite a lot of purples. Live near to you so wouldn't take long to send you a package. Then again it might be worth it just to go to Michaels. That way you are sure of the match. Let us know what you do. Good Luck. Hugs, BrendaK

If you can line up the cut pieces, fuse onto the back so it is one, then put an applique right over that area!

I'd sew on the end pieces, press them well and put the seam toward the outside edge if you are going to quilt it with a meander. If you are going to use straight lines in the quilting then it might show more. I had to add on to a strip in my son's quilt and now I can't find the seam and it's only pressed, not yet quilted.

Well, I went to Michaels and got the pack of purple fat quarters for $6.99, BUT I used my Joann's coupon (don't think they are related, they just honor competitors' coupons) for half off. So the fat quarter cost me $3.50 plus tax. And I have some extra purple fabric, never a bad thing, lol.

A seam won't be very noticable after it's quilted. Seam it and move on.
