Absolutely worth the trouble what an elegant quilt! Re the Schmetz, I only use those and Superior thread or YLI to piece. I was very lucky when I got my Janome that a good friend had one already and she filled me in on the best needles, thread, feet, tension setting etc etc (although the latter do differ slightly between our machines) so my learning curve was significantly shortened!
