I have googled scalloped tree skirt, but don't like any of the instructions. I , of course want a large and then small scallop on a small 12" tree skirt... It's a present for my boss.... any ideas or freeby instructions... Thanks... quilter 1234

What about a Dresden plate variation. Do one normal size then the next one could be thinner and then a normal one...you get the picture. Good luck and don't forget to post pictures when done.

I am odd but I did mine my way. lol I cut the big one out and cut two one for top and one for liner. I sew them together leaving room to turn and top stitched around the bottom. Cut the slit and then did a small one the same way. I cut the slit and lined it up with the big one at the slit. I then stitched the small on to the large one and put binding in the opening area of the slit. I don't do pictures. Hope you can understand this.

Draw a large circle the size you want. With protractor divide into the number of sections you want. I will punch a hole in the ends of a wodden yardstick to use to make the large circle.
Get a dinner plate and position at the outer edge for the scallop. This is the way I would do it.
Then design any type of patchwork or applique in each of the sections.
