Default A New Sewing/Quilting machine

Good Morning, I am in the market for a new machine. Currently have a Janome 6600. Am looking at either the 8200 or 8900. Can anyone out there help me decide which would be the best choice. Or what would be the comparable machine in one of your favorites. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I love my 8900. Have had no problems at all. It's a real workhorse.

I would encourage you to go to the local dealer and try out both machines to see what suits you best. It like buying a new car. Take it for a ride and have fun!!

^^^ I agree! Enjoy the process!!

I just bought a Babylock Crescendo. I'm in love! It does everything but the dishes, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to teach it that soon.

I like the size of the machine itself, the lighting is fabulous, it does everything you could ever want. Thread cutters everywhere, needle threader, bobbin sensor, 8 directional sewing, foot up or down, needle up or down. Electronic pen, that I haven't tried yet. The laser light is awesome!! Saves so much time not having to pin!

Me, too. I love my 8900. Here is a chart with a comparison between the two from Janome: http://www.janomespecials.com/mc8900...0/compare.html. This might help. Check and see which features are most important to you.

I have the 8200 and love it. After 10 years of only Berninas, I am surprised how much I like the 8200.
