Default FMQ Question

I finished a Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt top. I decided I was going to hand quilt it. Probably not a great idea because of all the hexie's. Now am thinking about FMQ it on my Handi Quilter 16. I am now sure what design to use. Anyone have suggestions for me?

It has 75 different colored flowers. It will be beautiful when finished. Just at a loss where to begin.

Wow! What a beautiful quilt. Looks like you put lots and lots of love in this one. I envy you. I would never attempt to make something like this. Oh, sorry I can't help you with your question.

Handquilting it will really make it pop! I'm quilting one now...I basted it on my sewing machine using a 4 inch grid and water soluable thread. I can now put it in my lap without a hoop and maneuver it easily. I think hand quilting it not only adds value, but it looks quite nice. Good luck.

I did a grandmother's flower garden quilt several years ago and sent it out for handquilting. The quilters did a stitch very close to the edges of each row of hexies. .... one row around the center hexi, one row around the next layer of the flower and another row around the outer layer of the flower. I love my quilt. I'm not sure if you can see the quilting in these pictures, but they did a superb job.

I myself quilted about 6 GFG on my Bernina by SITD outlining each circle of hexes. I match the thread to each fabric. I don't think with your light background and the darker flowers that an all over pattern will look very good on this quilt top. Sorry.
