Smart, I think the rubberized shelf liner would be the one to use for ceramic floor.

What a great tip. I'm always chasing my foot pedal.

I have a ceramic tile floor in my basement sewing room. I have tried everything, the rubberized shelf stuff, scraps of wood stolen from my husbands workshop, a throw rug, and a car mat. Strips of velcro worked for awhile, but I didn't stick it to the floor. I've decided to turn the problem over to my husband and have him make a play pen for the peddle. Hey, it works for wayward babies, it MAY work for my wayward pedal.

On the Pfaff Tiptronic, I was able to turn it upside down so the side that I should push on with my foot is the bottom instead of the top. That seemed to solve the problem for that machine! Crazy! But it worked!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have problems with mine every time I use my machine!

Yes, that wasn't very clear title--I looked at it this morning and thought "what's that all about?" thinking it meant the presser foot, instead of the foot control. Sorry--will try to do better next time.
