Red face MQX in Rhode Island

I was so disappointed when I tried to register for some classes and was told they were full at the 2012 MQX show in Rhode Island. My DH insisted that we go anyway and he made all the arrangements. When we registered for the day yesterday and was told there was an opening in the Dusty Farrell class and the DeLoa Jones class and I was able to attend. What a thrill it turned out to be, a fabulous time!!! Bought lots of thread and longarm rulers and even some fabric, a color I have been searching for for the last 3 years. What fabulous quilts on exhibit. Sadly the few pictures I took did not take because the batteries ran down. So sorry I don't have any to share. Just had to share this great experience with quilters that would understand the thrill.

I'm glad you were able to take some classes and had a wonderful time. Kudos to your husband for insisting you go anyway.

I used to really enjoy that show when they held it in New Hampshire in Sept. Maybe some year soon I'll plan to take some vacation days and head to Rhode Island. I'm glad you had a good time.

How exciting! How wonderful your DH knew you'd love it and see what happened? You did!

I think the classes must have filled up as soon as the catalogs went out! I checked in February and like you I found every class I was even remotely interested in was already full. So I took a pass this year. I bet it was fabulous.

Glad you got into those classes - they both are excellent presenters. The classes there fill VERY quickly - especially the stand and sew classes. You need to be quick in your choices as soon as the class schedule comes out. I was uncertain this year and when I decided that I would go - the open classes were not what I wanted so I just went to shop. I too came home with thread and all sorts of stuff that I could not "live without" lol.
