I was in a quilt store yesterday and they had samples out of OBW done with only four square pieces.

It was pretty impressive ... and looked simpler than working with the hexes.

Has anyone done any of these?

Care to share some pics?

Please? and Thanks!!

I'm getting really taken by these kaleidoscopes!

Question ... in picking the fabric, is it pretty much the same rules as to what fabric will give great results for the kaleidoscope effect?

Bonus ... willl only need four repeats!

That would be the four Patch Posie. Easy and fun to do.

Do you know what size the squares are that you cut?
I'm guessing about three or four inches?

I made several Fourpatch posies quilted tablerunners. My favorite was done in Halloween fabric. Here's the link to my post with photo>>>

Ladies ... What size squares did you cut?

I just found the following link with LOTS Of pics of these Four Patch Posies ... and not all are posies! Looks like some were done with very large squares ... and some done with smaller ones. Some beautiful quilts ... and lots of ideas.

Now ... how long do you think before I will start another UFO? :) (Don't laugh too hard!)

I've done a ton of these super easy blocks!!! Layer 4 fabrics like you are doing a SAW or OBW but I cut my strips 4 inches and then sub cut to 4 inch squares!!! Move them around until you are pleased with the ''look'' and sew together in a patch. I add quarter square triangles to the 4 sides for a nice square block that goes together for a very nice quilt.

Enjoy....these little 4 patch posies are very addictive!!

That's exactly what I'm worried about ... ANOTHER addiction!

Not like I don't have enough UFOs already!! :)

Thanks too, for the measurements. I saw some lovely finished quilts for inspiration, when I was googling ... including the above thread
