I saw someone bring in their chair & thought for a moment to bring my own. Maybe this would be an easier option?

What is the 10" square template used? Sorry, I'm not familiar...

A visit to my LQS last Saturday resulted in the purchase of the best cutting ruler I have used to date.
Quilters Select - the back side is coated with a smooth but grippy surface and it will not slide on the fabric at all!
I also bought the Quilters Select cutting board - it has a dark side and a light side that will help my aging eyesight.
quiltersselect.com - I think she said it was by Alex Anderson?

I have to agree with this. I use mine all the time now as I can see how it prevents me not only from mis-cutting fabric, but also mis-cutting myself!

I'm with MCH and Prism - the Quilter's Slide Lock is great. I got one for my Mom, and liked it so much I wanted to steal it back. I'll probably get one for myself this Christmas.

Love the clapper! It's a block of wood that you place on a seam you had just pressed! It absorbs the heat and makes the seam lay flatter! I got it from Nancy's notions

I've had Quilters Slide Lock for years. It was first called Rule Steady. I learned a great tip from this board. Use the Slidelock to smooth out the quilt as you lay it out to baste. It works great and gets the layers smoother then using your hand.
