Is anyone else watching this documentary on OWN network? It's called "Serving Life." It's about Angola prison in Louisiana. It profiles the hospice in the prison which serves inmates who are serving life sentences. The men who take care of these patients are also prisoners who volunteer their service to them.

But some of these volunteers also make quilts to cover the caskets of their fellow prisoners. It's pretty amazing to see these guys convicted of murder and robbery being so tender to the sick and then working a sewing machine. I just did a quick google and found a few pictures:

I don't get OWN, but I went and watched the trailer. It looks like a great show. Maybe I'll get to see it when it hits the itnernet.

the quilts are amazing! so is the transformation of these men. I would love to donate fabric. Anyone find any information on that?

This was such a powerful documentary. The prisoners were so changed by their experience. If anyone finds out about donating fabric, please post.

I had not seen that show but I watch Lockup a lot on MSNBC and in one of their shows they briefly mentioned the program as the man they were featuring that week worked on one of the quilts.
