I usually give my quilting friends fabric, threads, books or patterns. I just asume they make all the quilts that they may want.

I've never given another quilter a quilt I made as a gift but have made quilts for others through secret gift bag exchanges. And for those quilting buddies that I do exchange gifts we exchange lots of new/unusual gadgets, fabrics and ideas. I have in fact receive 2 quilts from quilters as a past guild president which are very dear to me and are on my bed.

I only know one person who quilts that lives near me. We are just getting into quilting and have done one roadtrip to look for fabric.

I have quilts from my aunt, and I made her an abbey bag last year for her sewing room

My DD1 gave me a quilted tree skirt years ago. She is not on the web and hasn't seen all the neat things there are here. So I am going to make her a pincushion/threadcatcher for Christmas.

ETA: She has also given me lots of potholders.

Last month I received a UFO from my Secret Pal and I just love it, as did several other members of my guild. I have to say it is one of the best items I have ever received in the SP exchange. It was such a pleasant surprise.

I am having so much fun looking for just the right border fabrics.

For me receiving a quilt will always be such an honor

No I haven't recieved or given anything quilted to my quilting friends as I only know this board of terrrific quilters. But through this board I am learning that you don't need to see them on a daily basis to consider them friend. Thank you for being there.

I have three very good friends, one of whom is a quilter, and I'm making all three mug rugs for Christmas along with a pretty mug, hot chocolate mix, and biscotti.
