Has someone used this type of projector to enlarge patterns ?- Or is it worth it?

http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog/p...PRODID=prd2191

Would like to enlarge patterns without having to go to a print shop to do so
Thanks for any info you can give me

Yes, I have one and love it. I also use mine to make barn quilts. I trace the pattern onto primed wood and then paint them. Its a good tracer and if you have an AC Moore, you can get a 50% coupon.

I have it and use mine to make church banners. It works great. I took a week long class fromn Kathy McNeil and made some wonderful things.

It would be great for enlarging applique designs :D:D:D

Don't know about it for blocks, as the image has to be smaller than 5" X 5" unless you do it in sections.

I have enlarged patterns with scanner on printer . Just a thought. But it worked great for me .I had a picture of my daughter and I needed 12 inch block .so enlarged photo and cut it out with plastic template material added 1/4 inch
when tracing around pattern and pieced block .It worked great.
I have never used a projector but my daughter has on many paintings and it worked very well

The last time I tried to scan something into my computer to enlarge, it was a Carol Doak 4" block I wanted to enlarge to 6" - I WILL NEVER SHOW ANYONE THE RESULTS OF THIS ADVENTURE - OMG - I am an adult and should be able to read directions.

Took them to my bank to have them enlarged - but only after waited at Staples for over 1/2 hr while they were waiting on other people.

Will be probably adding the trace projector to Santa's list - maybe by that time I will have destashed my quilt books and have a more organized "soon to be " sewing room

I appreciate all you info
